🌿 Marie Crutcher, M.Ed.
Montessori Educator | SEL Facilitator | RYT 500 | Forest Therapy Guide | Curriculum Developer
I am a Montessori educator, yoga practitioner, and certified forest bathing guide based in Lansing, Michigan.
My work is rooted in one simple belief: people need space to return to themselves.
For more than twenty years in the classroom, I have watched children flourish when they are given respect, time, movement, choice, and careful observation. I have learned that growth cannot be forced. It has to be invited. The same is true for adults.
Through yoga, forest bathing, retreats, and reflective practices, I create spaces where people can slow down, listen more honestly, and become steady again. My approach is spacious and invitational, shaped by Montessori principles of choice, observation, respect, and trust in the human being.
My forest bathing sessions are slow and sensory. My yoga classes are gentle, grounded, and responsive. We do not rush toward calm. We practice noticing what is already here — the breath, the body, the earth, the weather within us, and the quiet voice that often gets buried beneath daily life.
Alongside my Montessori training, I have studied trauma-sensitive yoga, somatic practice, and nature-based mindfulness. I also design curriculum that brings together Montessori education, social-emotional learning, storytelling, and environmental connection.
But the deepest part of this work is not found in a credential. It lives in the way children teach us to notice, the way the body tells the truth, and the way the natural world reminds us that nothing living grows well under constant pressure.
